Timers:

Entries should be done online at athletic.net. Shazam Racing will be doing the timing.

Entries:

Only the six DVC schools will be racing in the JV, FS and Open races. All teams will be entered in the varsity events. Entry limits in each race will be 42. Varsity races will be seeded at least one week in advance based on a vote of all head coaches so that the 1-5 seeds run in the orange varsity race, the 6-10 seeds in the blue race and the 11-15 seeds in the white race. All races will be merged as one race. If a team running in the blue or white race has an elite-level athlete who should be in the orange race for competitive purposes, the coach can elect to nominate that athlete to run separately in the orange race. All results will be compiled together regardless. Note that not all runners wishing to run in the orange race will be able to do so, as we are still limited in the amount of runners we can have in any one race.

DVC coaches are asked to use THIS SHEET to list their expected open runners to create the most competitive races on Saturday. Please do this by Monday, October 5th.

Bus Drop off:  Busses should drop off teams in lower auditorium lots.  Teams will then walk along the gravel path to designated team camp boxes on the football practice field

Coaches Meeting:  There will be a head coaches meeting 30 minutes before the start of the first race.  All coaches must be masked at all times during the entire meet.

Team Camps

Each team will be assigned to a team camp box (50’x50’) that can contain a maximum of 50 people. Teams of more than 50 members will be assigned more than one camp box. Guidelines governing the team camp boxes are as follows:

    • Only members of the team and coaches assigned to each camp box can be in the box.

    • Members of other teams or other non-team personnel are NOT allowed in the team camp boxes.

    • Tents must not be enclosed

    • Masks must be worn at all times while in a team camp box.

    • Social distancing must be observed wherever possible.

    • When not warming up or cooling down, team members should be in their assigned box and masks must be worn.

  • Warm-ups or course viewing must be done on the campus or surrounding sidewalks, but NOT on the course during other races.

Starting Procedure

  • Masks must be worn to the starting line and removed once socially distanced along the start line.

  • Coaches for each team at the line should be limited to two per team at maximum.

  • The start line will be socially-distanced in three rows, each six feet removed from one another, and with each athlete six feet from each other. Runners on the back two lines will be allowed to jog to the start on the command “runners set.”

  • There shall be no more than 42 runners in any one race, to allow for timers, a trainer and starter to be present at the start and/or finish.

  • Runners should not report to the starting line until the previous race has finished.

Finish Procedure

  • Each team will be given a meeting spot beyond the finish line at which to meet and re-mask. These spots will be separate from one another.

  • A coach from each team will be responsible for guiding the runners to their spot.

  • Runners should immediately report back to their assigned team box upon finishing. Each team will be assigned an exit to the team camps.

  • Cool downs must be done on the campus or surrounding sidewalks, but NOT on the course during other races.

Spectators

  • Spectators are not allowed at the event.

  • We will be simulcasting the event for parents who wish to watch the race in real time.

  • There will be no award ceremonies.

Restrooms

Portable toilets will be available; limited access to bathrooms in concession stands will also be available. The Naperville North High School building will be closed and not accessible to student-athletes and coaches. Masks must be worn while using the facilities and hand sanitizer should be used after each use.
